Status of Pastoral transition

You can visit this page to see periodic updates as we progress in our new season at CPCLM.

There are 5 general steps that CPCLM will go through during this time.

Below you will find where we are currently and the other 4 steps of this season.

Step 2: Mission Study

  • Session selects, with COM (Committee on Ministry, Los Ranchos Presbytery) approval, a study to help discern the next stage of life and mission of CPCLM.
  • Session selects a Mission Study Committee.
  • This process typically takes 3-6 months.
  • Attendees are welcome to provide input through town hall discussion and/or small groups.

    • Rev. Jason Ko's last Sunday was August 10, 2025.
    • We are grateful for the Ko family's 16+ years of ministry and we praise God for the commitment, time, and care shown through the Ko's for all those at CPCLM.
    • CPCLM congregation elects and approves the PNC.
    • The PNC meets for as long as it takes to call a new pastor.
    • Stages within this are: (1) writing a ministry discernment profile, (2) interviewing candidates, (3) discerning final candidate and negotiating terms of call.
    • Final candidate is chosen by PNC
    • Our Presbytery (Los Ranchos Presbytery) votes on receiving/installing the new pastor.
    • Following the worship service where the congregation hears the pastor candidate preach, the congregation votes on approval of candidate.
    • COM would then approve the terms of call and candidate.
