Pastor Jason (PJ) immigrated to the United States at the age of five from South Korea.

He grew up in a PC(USA) church, and both his parents served as Ruling Elders. He went to Rutgers University and graduated with a BS in Finance. Prior to entering Princeton Theological Seminary in 1999, he was a financial analyst and planned to pursue an MBA, but the Lord called him to full-time ministry. He graduated from seminary in 2002. He was ordained as a Minister of the Word and Sacrament in 2002 in Bloomfield, New Jersey.

PJ has pastored in three churches in NJ, Texas, and now California, respectively.  He has been at his current call at Community Presbyterian Church of La Mirada for over 16 years. He served as the Moderator of Los Ranchos Presbytery and five years as a member of the board of trustees in the Presbyterian Foundation.

He is married to Cathy for 24 years and is the father to Michelle, Jaimie, and Ethan. They are experiencing a foretaste of empty nest life as Michelle and Jaimie are both in college. For personal enjoyment and sabbath, he enjoys sports, road trips, reading, and smoking Texas BBQ on his smoker.

His life verse is Philippians 2:3-5, "Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit, but in humility consider others better than yourselves; each of you should look not only to your own interests but to the interests of others. In your relationships with one another, have the same mindset as Christ Jesus."
